BAYAMON, Puerto Rico (AP) Deontay Wilder remained undefeated with his 31st straight knockout, stopping Malik Scott in the first round in their heavyweight fight Saturday night.

Wilder landed a solid left and followed with a quick right that sent Scott (36-2-1) crumpling to the canvas 1:36 after the opening bell. Scott made a move to get up from his knees, but referee Roberto Ramirez Jr. counted him out.

The crowd of more than 10,100 at Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum was solidly behind the electric Wilder, but many seemed unconvinced as the knockout sequence was replayed on the big screens.
