Denkaosan Kaovichit of Thailand won his second world boxing title at 37 when he beat former champion Nobuo Nashiro of Japan by majority decision for the WBA interim super flyweight title at Suranaree University of Technology in Nakhon Ratchasima on Tuesday.

In a fight postponed for 11 days by an illness to Denkaosan, the Thai's left hook opened a cut above Nashiro's right eye in the third round. Despite the eye becoming swollen and bleeding, Nashiro had the better of the last two rounds, but Denkaosan did enough earlier to win the judges' decision 113-115.5, 116-113.5, 116.5-114.5.

Denkaosan, who held the flyweight title from 2008-2010, improved to 62-3-1 (26 KO), while Nashiro lost his fourth straight attempt to regain the super fly title he'd held twice previously. His record fell to 19-7-1 (13 KO).
