Canelo Alvarez-Liam Smith preliminary undercards live stream
Canelo Alvarez and Liam Smith square off tonight on HBO Pay-Per-View in an intriguing clash for the Liverpudlian’s WBO junior middleweight title. Before the PPV portion of Canelo-Smith, you can live stream the preliminary undercard bouts right here (6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT).
Other than Canelo Alvarez-Liam Smith, the Pay-Per-View portion of the broadcast will feature the following bouts: Gabriel Rosado (23-9, 13 KOs) vs. Willie Monroe Jr. (20-2, 6 KOs), middleweights; Joseph Diaz (21-0, 12 KOs) vs. Andrew Cancio (17-3-2, 13 KOs), featherweights; and Diego De La Hoya (15-0, 9 KOs) vs. Luis Orlando Del Valle (22-2, 16 KOs), super bantamweights.
There is one notable fights that you can live stream before Canelo-Smith shifts to Pay-Per-View: Sadam Ali (22-1, 13 KOs) vs. Saul Corral (22-7, 13 KOs).
Although the match-up is hardly competitive, Ali is on the comeback trail after losing his first world title bid via stoppage to Jessie Vargas, who will now get to cash in by fighting Manny Pacquiao. Ali, a former U.S. Olympian, is undeniably talented, but one has to wonder how he’s recovered mentally from his first major setback as a pro.
There’s no reason to assume that Sadam Ali is damaged goods, but he’ll need to prove that tonight against a seemingly overmatched foe in Saul Corral. The welterweight division is star laden, so Ali needs to make an emphatic statement if he wants to find himself back in the championship mix by early 2017.
As for the main event, Canelo Alvarez-Liam Smith is probably a better match-up than most are willing to admit. This is because the specter of Gennady Golovkin looms large over the contest, with Canelo’s categorical refusal to face the best middleweight in the world driving the narrative of his immediate and future plans.
