Alfredo ''Perro'' Angulo stopped Joachim Alcine with one second left in a merciless first round Saturday night, dramatically invigorating his career.

Angulo (19-1, 16 KOs) won his fourth straight fight by stoppage with nearly three full minutes of punishment for Alcine, who never recovered after foolishly holding onto Angulo's left glove while Angulo relentlessly pounded him with the right.

Angulo repeatedly staggered Alcine (32-2), the former WBA 154-pound champion from Montreal, before finishing him with several shots to the head right before the bell.

The fight was the co-main event before Timothy Bradley's welterweight matchup with Luis Carlos Abregu at the Agua Caliente Casino near Palm Springs.
