In one moment, the relationship between Triple H and Seth Rollins was over. There are a few ways to build a Wrestlemania match between the two. The question is, just how do they do it?

While we are a few months removed from the spark that started it, the idea for a potential match at Wrestlemania in 2017 has been much discussed among fans. The concept stems from Triple H’s betrayal of his alliance with Seth Rollins. In that instant, Rollins was screwed by the one man that had stood behind him while he was the flag bearer of the Authority, and in one fell swoop, Rollins went from being a heel to a face. But since that night the ball appears to have been dropped, and the creative team has allowed a potentially hot storyline to die. This could be a dream match, regardless of Triple H’s current wrestling schedule, and would help increase ticket sales.

The Game vs. The Man, the cerebral assassin vs. the architect; the build for this match allows the marketing department to have a field day. The combination of these two combustible elements in the ring suggests that WWE is willing to put the best possible product out there. The idea is there, the concept just needs to be sketched out. How can the WWE creative build this potentially explosive confrontation? Here are a few ideas we will toss out there that could potentially swim.

3. Revenge at the Hands of Rollins

It would be easy to plant seeds for a Rollins/Triple H blowoff at Wrestlemania; it just has to be believable. It was initially hard to cheer for Rollins because for so long he was the one getting away unscathed from every possible scenario. In order for this work, it would take a number of incidents occurring where Rollins is screwed over time and time again. Make it clear to fans that Rollins is getting the short end of the stick over and over again.

Whether that means there is constant interference in his matches leading to losses, or his opponents finding a way to squirm away much like he used to, leading to Rollins being fed up and taking the law into his own hands. He would have to screw over the champions of the promotion, costing them wins and breaking up matches. Rollins would essentially have to be an issue for security, and come in through the crowd to wear down the opposition. Then, and only then, would Triple H be forced to have to deal with the fact that, unless he and Rollins settle the score, his life will be a living hell.

2. Manipulating Stephanie

One of the biggest challenges for anyone that has to work against the Stephanie character is trying to get the upper hand in a battle of promos. So it would be a challenge for Rollins to try and manipulate Stephanie. But he could do this in a number of ways, really. He could take up so much of her time that it takes her focus off the rest of the roster, leaving things open to be missed. In the process, Rollins monopolizing Stephanie’s attention and time could lead to a rift between her and Mick Foley.

While that last notion doesn’t appear to be a reason to upset Triple H, this “unintentional” distraction of Stephanie could lead to several wrestlers voicing their displeasure with her, possibly creating a revolt and potential exodus to join Smackdown Live. If this ever came about, Triple H would be seething because this whole process would make The Game’s wife appear to be incompetent. It would have to be as much psychological warfare as it would be physical.

1. Triple H’s Own Jealousy

This last concept may seem like a bit of a stretch, but honestly, Rollins could kill them with kindness. We could have a scenario where Rollins spends an exorbitant amount of time with Stephanie, giving compliments and extending accolades towards her. It wouldn’t have to be over the top, it could be something as simple as giving flowers as a thank you, or saving her from potential danger, demonstrating chivalry in the process. In fact, he could be “intentionally, unintentionally” seeming to court her, while playing it cool the whole time. Rollins could never ask for anything in return, simply allow his actions speak for themselves.

From a distance, Triple H could see all the things that Rollins is doing and become jealous, creating a rift between him and Stephanie. If there is one thing fans wouldn’t expect, time it would be Stephanie going against her husband and defending Seth. A scenario could play out where Triple H sucker punches Seth, with Stephanie stepping in between them. With Stephanie’s attention drawn to Triple H, the camera pans to see a smirk on the face of Rollins, showing fans that it was all just an act on the part of the architect.
