WWE Rumors: Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns Feud Planned

Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns may be going head to head in the not-so-distant future.
Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns both retained their Universal and United States Championships, respectively, at Hell in a Cell. They successfully got out of cell matches with belts in hand and are moving onto Survivor Series as they’re both on Team Raw for the elimination match.
However, in between this, Reigns had an interview on Raw Talk, which took place after Hell in a Cell. He noted wanting to go after Owens’ Universal Title despite already owning the US belt.
Well, this could be coming to fruition. According to F4WOnline.com, WWE is planning on having Owens and Reigns feud for the Universal Championship. They would want to have a match between the two take place at the Roadblock pay-per-view on Sunday, December 18. This is Raw’s next exclusive show.
Reigns vs. Owens would probably mean any potential program with Chris Jericho would be pushed back. The trajectory for Owens and Y2J seems to be to have a championship match, which would have had an ideal spot at Roadblock. However, since teasing tension in mid-October, things have cooled down. They worked together to give KO the Hell in a Cell win and seemed to be on the same page on the post-Raw.
By doing a title vs. title feud, there’s the threat of the United States Championship falling into the background. This challenge was faced with Seth Rollins held this and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2015. So, could WWE look to find a way to take the lesser belt off The Big Dog?
Reigns and Owens could be on their way to their first PPV singles match against each other. They already wrestled once before on Raw, so we’ll see how they do on the bigger stage, if this happens.
