WWE has issued a statement on the release of Alberto Del Rio.

WWE officially released a statement on the release of Joe Rodriguez, better known as Alberto Del Rio, earlier this morning. Del Rio and his girlfriend Paige, have been the target of various rumors ever since the couple made their relationship public. One of the biggest speculations, being that the couple has been hounded by WWE because of the public knowledge of their relationship shared by Paige throughout various social media outlets. It has been rumored that WWE tried to intervene in their relationship, but they have since denied all accusations that threats were made to the couple if they continued to be together.

Last month, both Alberto and Paige, were placed on a 30-day suspension for failure to uphold the wellness policy set forth by WWE. It has been said that Del Rio had some type of “out-clause” in his contract and was planning on leaving, but the couple has remained mostly silent regarding their current status and issues with the company. Yesterday , it was reported by Super Luchas, that Del Rio is to hold a press conference today providing a state regarding his current suspension and news of his future with WWE, again igniting rumors about his imminent release.

On Friday, WWE released their statement that a mutual agreement for Alberto Del Rio’s release had been reached, yet it was short and to the point leading one to speculate on the hidden issues behind the severed ties. Alberto has also confirmed his departure on Twitter, claiming that the “business relationship” between himself and WWE has ended on good terms. However, if sources prove to be accurate, it has been reported that Paige has also quit an is seeking to get out of her contract, but is locked in for quite some time.

It is becoming rather obvious that there has been some friction caused by the couple’s relationship, but should it all be chalked to bad influence or has WWE really trying to sabotage their relationship?
