WWE Raw Review: Live Results, Analysis, and Grades for September 12; Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns

Follow along with our review of Monday’s episode of WWE Raw.
On Sunday night, WWE SmackDown’s Backlash pay-per-view took place. This saw AJ Styles win the WWE World Championship from Dean Ambrose, among other highlights. However, programming will transition to Raw on Monday night.
This show will be headlined by Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens. If The Big Dog wins, he will be added to the WWE Universal Championship match at WWE Clash of Champions. This will see Seth Rollins challenge Owens for the belt.
Reigns winning would place him into the main event scene that he got left out of in July. A Wellness Policy suspension, Battleground loss, and defeat by Finn Balor sent him to the United States Championship. Three months earlier, the former Shield man had been challenging for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 32. So, this makes Monday night a big deal for him.
Does Rusev still wait in the wings, though? These two feuded until SummerSlam, and didn’t have an official match at the show. If The Bulgarian Brute returns from his honeymoon on Raw, could he sabotage Reigns’ evening?
As for Owens, we didn’t see him with Triple H last Monday, which could be seen as a surprise. Could The Game be around this time around to talk about what happened two weeks ago? An answer, or something close to one, could be needed to progress the storyline of KO being the latest protege.
Sheamus and Cesaro will battle in Match No. 5 of their Best-of-Seven series. The Swiss Superman won the fourth one in London, so can he keep himself alive by winning on Raw?
Charlotte has to deal with the returning Sasha Banks, who came back from a brief injury hiatus. What will happen between these two?
With this in mind, follow along with our Raw review beginning at 8:00 PM ET.
