After becoming the new No. 1 Contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Alexa Bliss will get her chance to defeat Becky Lynch at WWE No Mercy.

Becky Lynch won the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE Backlash, defeating Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Naomi, Natalya, and Nikki Bella. The Irishwoman became the last of the Four Horsewomen to win a title in WWE. It would seem her next title match would take place at No Mercy.

On Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown, a Fatal Five-Way featured the other competitors from the match at Backlash. The winner would become the new No. 1 Contender to Lynch’s title. It would result in Bliss winning to get this opportunity. Carmella looked like she had the victory with a kick to Bella, but the Five Feet of Fury pulled the Princess of Staten Island away from the pin, and got the successful three-count.

This didn’t confirm that Bliss vs. Lynch would take place at No Mercy. However, on Wednesday, WWE made this match official for the October 9 show.

These two have been familiar foes in recent weeks. They faced off twice in August, which had been the first full month of Bliss’ main roster stay and the Brand extension. Episodes of NXT saw them cross paths, too.

Lynch vs. Bliss should be one of the headlining matches of No Mercy. While it may be a surprise to see the champion drop her belt so soon, sometimes babyfaces see their reigns last a shorter amount of time than heels. So, could The Irish Lass Kicker lose just one month after getting her moment?

Already included on the No Mercy match card is AJ Styles vs. John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship. This will main event the show.

Are you looking forward to Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss? Are these two matches enough to sell you on the No Mercy card?
