WWE Hell in a Cell 2016: 3 Reasons Seth Rollins Should Defeat Kevin Owens

With Hell in a Cell is right around the corner, here are three reasons Seth Rollins should defeat the champion, Kevin Owens inside Hell in a Cell.
Seth Rollins versus Kevin Owens is a match-up at Hell in a Cell which fans were not expecting to see this soon after the brand split this past July. These two superstars are two of the most talented in WWE today with their respective in-ring capabilities and their ability to engage the crowd through their work on the microphone. Both men are heel-type characters for WWE and Monday Night Raw at the current time, however, in this particular instance, we find Owens as the heel and Rollins as the face. Raw wasted no time making Rollins a face and it was a relatively easy transition with the situation they put him in.
This rivalry stems back to September after Universal Champion, Finn Balor had to relinquish his title due to an injury sustained at SummerSlam, while involved in a match with Seth Rollins. Since then, Kevin Owens had gained the Universal Championship with the help of Triple H in the process. Triple H had already screwed Roman Reigns out of the championship and then followed up with a pedigree to his former protege, Rollins. This allowed for Owens to pin the former champion and prevail with his first world championship in WWE.
Rollins was defeated at WWE Clash of Champions a few weeks ago in controversial fashion to Owens once again. Chris Jericho and Raw commissioner, Stephanie McMahon seemingly both played a role that night. These two will now meet once again in Hell in a Cell to decide who is indeed the better man and the top guy on Monday nights. Rollins has endured recent hardship with these recent losses to Owens. Fans eagerly await this highly anticipated match-up. Here are three reasons Rollins should defeat Owens at Hell in a Cell 2016.

3. Never Truly Regained Relinquished Title
Let’s rewind the clock about a year. Last November, Seth Rollins was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the man and the reason WWE still remained relevant. Rollins was going to be the Champion heading into Survivor Series, however, it was rumored that Roman Reigns would be the one to finally defeat him. Rollins had held the title since Wrestlemania, months prior. Rollins had pinned Reigns to do so after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract. The Champion would then get injured and would miss the next few months. Rollins never lost the coveted championship, but had to relinquish it nonetheless.
Rollins then returned to face champion, Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank. After a hard fought match, Rollins ultimately defeated Reigns once again to win the title. The title that he never lost remained around his waste for all of five minutes. Former Shield member, Dean Ambrose wasted no time cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and pinned Rollins right there. Ambrose was the new champion.
The two-time champion, has not held the gold since. As Rollins will always proclaim, he deserves the championship and wants what has been stolen from him on multiple occasions now. Rollins truly was the one giving the title meaning and the one keeping WWE interesting all those months and does deserve his title back. He has never lost in pure fashion. Now, as a face, he has the opportunity to win and validate himself.

2. Likely a Rare ‘Face’ Turn
How often exactly would you expect Rollins to play the role of the good guy in WWE? Not too often, as he is one of the top, if not the top heel in the industry today. His ability to improvise on the fly while on the mic is impeccable. He is more comfortable than anyone in that ring right now. Rollins is not one that needs a script to say anything of relevance when inside the ring. Seth Rollins does not have a face-type character even though he can pull off either role.
Rollins, over the course of his career, will be viewed as a heel as opposed to a face. We have seen this before with superstars such as Triple H, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and Edge for example. When these men were WWE Champions, they were mainly used as heels. This will likely be a rare chance for the fans to view Rollins as a face character as opposed to a heel looking to get booed by the fans. Rollins is one of few superstars on the roster that is liked and appreciated in all facets of the professional wrestling game.
Rollins has the type of character that can seemingly switch roles at the drop of a hat. We have already seen this transition over the past couple of weeks. Getting a taste of his own medicine and being cost his championship opportunity by Triple H can do that. Also, being placed in matches against other heels like Owens and Rusev are great ways to switch his character. To see Rollins be champion as a ‘face’ will be rare. WWE can use this to their advantage at Hell in a Cell.

1. Jericho Turns on Owens
One of the most talked about gimmicks in WWE at the current moment has been the friendship of Chris Jericho and WWE Universal Champion, Kevin Owens. We all know this friendship will come to an end in the near future, but the question is when? The WWE Universe would love to see a clash between Y2J and the Prize Fighter, Owens. What better way to break up the friendship than for Jericho to take out Owens and cause him to lose the title. This would allow for the fans see a heel Owens take on a face Jericho for a month or two heading into the Royal Rumble.
Once the Royal Rumble comes around, Rollins would likely switch characters again an become the heel we all know him to be. This is where he truly flourishes. Some may say, it is too soon, but either scenario can work out in WWE’s favor if they approach it correctly. Jericho versus Owens needs to and will happen in the near future. Why not at Hell in a Cell? Owens would have to get through Jericho before getting back to Rollins. Rollins winning the championship would work out well for all three parties involved here.
