Where is the 2017 WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view going to take place?

The WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view used to be an annual February event from 2010-2014. While the show had seemingly been discontinued in 2015, WWE made it a WWE Network exclusive special. This saw Intercontinental and Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber matches, the first for both belts. Ryback, who’s no longer with the company, won the singles title and New Day retained their championship in the other match.

The PPV did not return in 2016, though. No reason was given, but after two subpar chamber matches in 2015, it may have been for the best to avoid this gimmick event.

Well, it seems Elimination Chamber is being brought back by WWE. According to the Talking Stick Arena’s Twitter account, the show will be coming to the venue of the same name in Phoenix, AZ.

No date or ticket sales were announced, but as the tweet notes, information will be coming soon.

What will be interesting is which brand, Raw or SmackDown, receives the PPV. If this takes place in February, then it would have WrestleMania 33 implications. A title could be on the line, or even a No. 1 contendership. Maybe it’s AJ Styles putting the WWE World Championship on the line. How about five of Raw’s Superstars gunning for the chance to wrestle for the Universal Championship at the Show of Shows?

The Elimination Chamber gimmick came about after Eric Bischoff’s idea for the chamber match came to life in 2002, and became used for special events. It started with Survivor Series 2002, and continued from there.

So, sometime in 2017, the Elimination Chamber will be returning to WWE. Whenever it takes place, it should provide plenty of antics that sets the stage for a big event, potentially WrestleMania 33.
