Amidst the rumors of a sale, is TNA’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view going to take place?

For the past few weeks, TNA has been the subject of the wrestling water cooler talks. Their status is in doubt with Dixie Carter looking to sell her 70-percent stake in the company. Billy Corgan, who took over as President in August, has been seen as the front-runner. With other suitors rumored, though, it doesn’t make the Smashing Pumpkins singer a guarantee to take control of the struggling business. It even put Sunday’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view in doubt.

Bound for Glory is TNA’s headline show of the year. They’ve been doing this since 2005, with the shows formally taking place all over the country, and even one in Japan. However, the 2016 version had been scheduled for the Impact Zone in Orlando, FL. Bobby Lashley vs. Ethan Carter III for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship will headline the show.

So, is this event taking place as scheduled? According to the New York Post, Bound for Glory will still be taking place on Sunday, October 2. Corgan got quoted for saying “it’s a go, from what I’ve been told.” “An unidentified third party” also funded the show. To top it off, Corgan and WWE are going to discuss the sale next week.

It’s a positive that TNA will at least be able to have their show go on Sunday night. However, there remains a cloud over their future with no solution known. Maybe this “unidentified third party” is the leader to buy the company. Someone not even involved with the negotiations could have given money as well.

We’ll see at Bound for Glory if there’s a sale update. If there is, we may be seeing the end of TNA’s 14-year existence.
