While TJ Perkins celebrated his WWE Cruiserweight Classic victory, he spoke about everything and gave a shoutout to the rest of the field.
On Wednesday night, the WWE Cruiserweight Classic concluded. The semifinals took place, along with the finals matchup of TJ Perkins and Gran Metalik. Not only did the winner receive the Cruiserweight Classic trophy, but Triple H made a surprise appearance to announce the Cruiserweight Championship and awarded that, too. This person would walk into the September 19 episode of Raw with the belt.
The result would see Perkins defeat Metalik with the TJP Clutch, capturing the inaugural CWC. He would celebrate with Triple H, who gave him the title, and NXT GM William Regal.
Charly Caruso would interview the former TNA star in the ring, and got his thoughts on what just happened. He talked about his journey culminating at the Cruiserweight Classic, and have a shoutout to the other 31 members of the tournament. This included appreciating and calling them “heroes”.

Afterward, Perkins’ celebration would continue. He took photos with Triple H, the trophy, the medal, and the new Cruiserweight Championship. Afterward, The Game gave a subtle piece of advice. He made sure that TJP didn’t have anything planned for Monday,
TJP will make his main roster debut on Monday, when WWE travels to Memphis, TN. The cruiserweight division will be headlined by this new champion, whose use on the show remains to be seen. Obviously, Wednesday night was a good start. He’ll join the likes of Metalik, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Rich Swann, among others.
We’ll see what happens when the cruiserweight division joins Raw. TJ Perkins will lead them as the Cruiserweight Champion, and should bring an intriguing presence to a show that desperately needs the help.
