Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shared Wednesday that Forbes has named him the highest paid actor in the world in 2016, 15 years after he landed his first big role in The Mummy Returns. Giving up a full-time pro wrestling career turned out to be the right call.
The Rock ranked 19th on Forbes' list of the top 100 highest-paid celebrities over the last 12 months with an income of $64.5 million, and that number should rise with the upcoming release of Disney's Moana and four major movies scheduled for 2017.
Some other highlights from the list:
Taylor Swift is No. 1 at an estimated $170 million, $60 million ahead of One Direction at No. 2.
Dr. Phil is in tie for fourth with Cristiano Ronaldo at $88 million
The Rock's frequent co-star Kevin Hart is sixth at $87.5 million
LeBron James is the first American athlete to show up on the list at No. 11.
