On Monday’s episode of Raw, Rusev returned to cost Roman Reigns a chance at going for the WWE Universal Championship.

Since the beginning of August, Rusev and Roman Reigns have feuded on WWE Raw. They were supposed to have a United States Championship match at SummerSlam, but this never started. A brawl would ensue, leaving The Bulgarian Brute injured and unable to compete.

After Finn Balor relinquished the Universal Title, Reigns and Rusev took part in qualifying matches for the belt. After losing his bout, the former League of Nations member wouldn’t be seen on WWE TV. He didn’t look to get revenge on the former Shield man either.

Well, on Monday’s episode of Raw, Rusev would return to get an upper hand on Reigns, who had been competing in a match with Kevin Owens. If Reigns won, he would have advanced to the Clash of Champions main event. This will see Owens defend the Universal Championship vs. Seth Rollins.

So, as The Big Dog set up for a move, Rusev ran down and distracted him. This led to Owens hitting the pop-up powerbomb for the win.

Rusev and Reigns getting a date at WWE Clash of Champions should follow this up, with the U.S. Title on the line. It’s time to settle the score between these two, which would add to a quality match card. It features Owens vs. Rollins, Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks, Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho, and New Day vs. Anderson and Gallows.

The two-time U.S. Champion has held the belt since WWE Extreme Rules, and could be in danger of having his reign end after four months. It’s a lot of time for this title to stay on one Superstar, so could this spell disaster for the Master of The Accolade at Clash?

If the match gets made, should Roman Reigns defeat Rusev at CoC?
