Utah has removed the interim tag from women's basketball coach Anthony Levrets' title.
Athletic director Chris Hill announced Wednesday that Levrets will officially replace Elaine Elliott, who has retired after taking a year's leave of absence. Elliott coached at Utah for 31 years, the last 27 as the head coach.
Levrets served as Elliott's top assistant for three years before assuming the interim job at the end of the 2009-10 season.
Levrets led the Utes to this year's Mountain West Conference tournament title and into the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Utes lost to No. 2 seed Notre Dame on Saturday.
