COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) South Carolina starting forward Asia Dozier injured her right hand against Texas A&M and her status is unclear for the No. 2 Gamecocks next contest against 18th-ranked Kentucky.

Dozier, a senior, injured her hand in the third quarter Sunday and did not return to South Carolina's 70-63 victory. Dozier is listed as day-to-day and South Carolina officials say she will return to practice when her ''pain allows."

The Gamecocks host the Wildcats on Thursday night.

Dozier has started 11 games this season, including all nine Southeastern Conference games for South Carolina (21-0, 9-0). The two-time team captain is averaging 3.2 points a game this season.

Dozier has started 73 games in her Gamecock career. If Dozier can't play against Kentucky, the Gamecocks would be down to 10 players.
