Range leads No. 15 Cal women past Pacific, 84-64

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) Courtney Range scored 27 points and Mikayla Cowling added 18 in her collegiate debut to help the No. 15 Cal women beat Pacific 84-64 on Sunday.
Range made 10 of 13 field goals, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked two shots. Reshanda Gray added 17 points and Brittany Boyd scored 12 to go with eight assists before fouling out.
Cal (1-0), improved to 23-2 all-time against Pacific, opened the game with an 11-3 run and never trailed.
Pacific (1-1) made just 7 of 25 (28 percent) field goals and committed nine turnovers in the first 20 minutes and went into halftime down 41-24.
Hailie Eackles led the Tigers with 14 points, but finished 4 of 15 from the field and 2 of 8 from 3-point range. Erin Butler added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Cal out-rebounded Pacific 49-33 and turned 18 offensive rebounds into 19 second-chance points.
