No. 5 Maryland women top Northwestern 79-70

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored 27 points, and No. 5 Maryland held off Northwestern for a 79-70 victory on Sunday.

Tierney Pfirman had 15 points for the Terrapins (23-3, 12-2 Big Ten), who never trailed in their 11th victory in their last 12 games. Brionna Jones scored 14 points.

Maryland shot 56 percent, compared to 34.3 percent for Northwestern.

Maggie Lyon had 25 points for the Wildcats (14-12, 3-11), who have dropped eight of nine. Nia Coffey and Inman Christen had 15 points apiece, and Ashley Deary finished with 11.
