No. 3 Duke did not look past Clemson heading into its showdown with Connecticut. That helped the Blue Devils remain the only undefeated team in the country.
Jasmine Thomas scored 14 points to help Duke beat Clemson 92-37 on Wednesday night.
Tricia Liston added 12 points for the Blue Devils (20-0, 6-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who got their 14th consecutive win over the Tigers.
Krystal Thomas added 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Chloe Wells added 11 points for Duke. Chelsea Gray scored 10 points for the Blue Devils.
''Each game we play in this conference is going to be a tough game, so there is no looking onto the next game,'' Krystal Thomas said. ''We have to take care of our conference first before we can do anything outside of our conference.''
Duke will face No. 2 UConn at Storrs, Conn., on Monday. The Huskies (19-1) had won a record 90 consecutive games before suffering their lone defeat of the season, 71-59 at Stanford on Dec. 30.
''We've got to be motivated for us to be the very best we can be,'' Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie said. ''You've got to have that edge to you to want to do that, and it can't be because you're playing a certain team. It has to be because that's who you are and that's who you're looking forward to being.''
Duke displayed that mentality in its 19th consecutive home win. The Blue Devils shot 50 percent from the floor and posted season highs for victory margin (55), 3-pointers (12) and steals (23).
Duke led 59-12 at halftime after spurts of 18-0 and 24-0, its largest scoring runs of the season.
Kirstyn Wright scored 15 points to lead the Tigers (9-13, 2-5), who finished with a season-low point total.
Clemson shot 26.4 percent from the floor and committed a season-high 36 turnovers.
''I think the press was a big part of the discrepancy at the beginning,'' Clemson coach Itoro Coleman said. ''We didn't handle it well at all. That's just a compliment to Duke and how aggressive they were.''
Wright scored Clemson's first 10 points of the game. Her teammates combined to miss 18 of 19 field-goal attempts in the first half, with the lone made shot coming on a layup by Lindsey Mason with 1:40 remaining.
By that point, the Blue Devils led 53-12. They had to rally from an 18-point halftime deficit to win 65-64 at North Carolina State on Sunday, but the comeback was much easier this time.
After the Tigers grabbed a 2-0 lead on Wright's driving scoop shot on the first possession of the game, the Blue Devils answered with an 18-0 spurt to take control.
Jasmine Thomas made a layup and a 3-pointer before producing assists on four consecutive possessions during that span.
''We have been talking about that for a while, getting off to a good start in games,'' Jasmine Thomas said. ''I think our defensive intensity is what sparked that tonight.''
Wright made a tough leaner and a three-point play on consecutive possessions to pull the Tigers within 21-7 with 12:25 left in the first half, but they never got closer. Duke scored eight consecutive points before another three-point play by Wright, then blew open the game with a 24-0 spurt.
The Blue Devils finished the first half with season highs for points and field-goal percentage, generating easy opportunities from their defense. Clemson had 19 turnovers in the first half, allowing Duke to build a 15-0 advantage in fast-break points before halftime.
