Porsche Poole scored 12 points to lead a balanced attack for No. 25 Michigan State in a season-opening 90-62 victory over IPFW on Saturday.
Cetera Washington and Lykendra Johnson each had 11 points for the Spartans. Kalisha Keane, Jasmine Thomas and Kelsey Smith all added 10, with Keane reaching 1,000 points in her four-year career.
Michigan State led 22-13 with 8:06 left in the first half, then went on a 29-8 run for a 51-21 halftime lead.
The Spartans shot 55 percent from the field, including 50 percent on 3-point tries, scoring 30 points beyond the arc.

Stephanie Rosado led the Mastodons with 18 points on 5-for-16 shooting.
