No. 24 George Washington women pull away from Davidson 52-35

WASHINGTON (AP) Jonquel Jones scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and No. 24 George Washington ran its winning streak to 18 with a 52-35 win over Davidson on Thursday.

Shannon Cranshaw also had 12 points on four 3-pointers and Hannah Schaible scored 11 for the Colonials (20-2, 9-0 Atlantic 10), who reached 20 wins for the 20th time in school history.

The Wildcats (5-18, 1-9) were within two with less than seven minutes left in the first half but George Washington scored the last six points before intermission to lead 31-23 and then scored the first nine of the second half.

Alexandra Long scored 11 points for Davidson, which shot just 26 percent (15-57) and had 21 turnovers.

Jones also had four assists and Chakecia Miller six as George Washington, ranked for the first time since the end of the 2008 season, had 17 assists on 22 baskets.
