Kate Oliver scored 19 points to help No. 21 Marist beat Fairfield 60-45 on Sunday for the Red Foxes' school-record 23rd straight win.

Erica Allenspach had 11 points and seven rebounds to help Marist (27-2, 18-0 MAAC) become just the second team in league history to finish unbeaten in conference play since it went to an 18-game schedule. The Red Foxes also accomplished the feat in 2007-08.

Marist, tops in the nation in scoring defense at 49.5 points allowed per game, held Fairfield (17-12, 10-8) to just 19 points in the first half.

Brittany McFarlane scored 12 points and Taryn Johnson had 10 for the Stags.

In a game that featured a dozen first-half lead changes, neither team led by more than three points before the Red Foxes scored the final nine points of the half.

After Fairfield trimmed Marist's 11-point lead to 45-38 midway through the second half, Oliver scored the Red Foxes' next 10 points to seal the win.

Marist will be the top seed in the MAAC tournament, which begins Thursday in Bridgeport, Conn.
