No. 18 Arizona State women use balance to top San Jose 82-37

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) Freshmen Robbi Ryan and Reili Richardson scored 11 points apiece and No. 18 Arizona State rolled to an 82-37 win over San Jose State on Sunday.

The Sun Devils used 13 players with all but one scoring and 12 playing at least 10 minutes.

ASU (2-0) had a commanding 44-21 halftime lead and then blitzed the Spartans 27-9 in the third quarter when they made 9 of 12 shots and 8 of 10 free throws. Despite cooling off in the fourth quarter, the Sun Devils shot 49 percent and made 17 of 24 free throws.

The Spartans (1-1) shot 25 percent, making 1 of 14 behind the arc and 10 of 18 free throws. No player reached double figures. Dezz Ramos had nine points on 3-of-16 shooting.

Only one player failed to grab a rebound for the Sun Devils, who had a 49-20 advantage on the boards. Ten different players had assists for a total of 20 on 29 baskets.
