No. 14 Maryland races past American U 94-50

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading No. 14 Maryland to a 94-50 rout of American on Friday night.

Laurin Mincy had 16 points with eight boards, Brionna Jones and Kristen Confroy each added 11 points and Lexie Brown dished out eight assists for the Terrapins (8-2).

Maryland shot 52.5 percent from the field and outscored American 38-14 in the paint along with a 49-28 rebounding edge.

The Terrapins pulled away early, jumping out to a 15-0 lead sparked by a three-point play and a 3-pointer from Mincy. Maryland led 48-19 at halftime, holding the Eagles to 5-of-28 shooting in the opening 20 minutes. The Terrapins shot 66.7 percent in the second half.

Jen Dumiak paced American with 18 points and five rebounds. Arron Zimmerman and Ari Booth each chipped in eight points, but nobody else scored more than five for the Eagles.
