Tiffany Hayes scored 25 points and Maya Moore had 24 as No. 1 UConn defeated Franklin Pierce 112-41 in its first exhibition game Thursday night at Gampel Pavilion.
Freshman Bria Hartley added 14 for UConn, which led 55-18 at the break thanks to a 35-3 run that spanned 13 minutes from the end of the first period and into the second.
Moore, a unanimous choice for The Associated Press Preseason All-America team for the second time, also had seven assists. She played only nine minutes in the second half against the Ravens, who advanced to the Division II Final Four last season.
Tiffany Johnson scored 8 points for Franklin Pierce, which shot 29.2 percent and had 31 turnovers.
