Louisiana College women's hoops coach dies at 46

Louisiana College women's basketball coach Janice Joseph-Richard (REE'-shard) has died after a five-year fight with breast cancer. She was 46.
Louisiana College president Joe Aguillard says Joseph-Richard died Wednesday at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
A native of Alexandria, Joseph-Richard was an All-American player at Louisiana College in 1985 and 1986 before beginning a professional basketball career in Europe.
She led the Lady Wildcats for the past three seasons, including a 24-3 record last year and the school's first appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament.
She also coached at Xavier University in New Orleans and San Jose State.
Aguillard said Joseph-Richard was ''one of the classiest ladies that I have had the privilege of working with, highly professional, very graceful.''
