Indiana Fever re-sign trio of players

NEW YORK (AP) — Seimone Augustus and Allie Quigley are staying put.

The two former All-Stars re-signed with their teams on Saturday, Augustus with Minnesota and Quigley with Chicago.

Augustus, who was the first pick of the 2006 draft, has played her entire career with the Lynx and helped them win a WNBA-record-tying four titles. She has averaged 15.8 points during her postseason career.

"I couldn't be more excited to be re-signing with the only place I've called home in the WNBA," Augustus said. "Being a member of this franchise means a lot to me and my family and I'm ready to continue what we've built here; and that's a championship group."

Quigley — the defending two-time All-Star 3-point champion — has played the last seven seasons with the Sky.

"Chicago is already home to me but this organization and team feels like family," Quigley said. "I'm really happy and grateful to be back. I'm anxious for the season to start and am so ready to get Chicago back to the playoffs!"

Quigley married teammate Courtney Vandersloot in December.

Other moves over the last 24 hours — the first chance players could start signing with teams — included Dearica Hamby (Las Vegas), Crystal Langhorne and Mercedes Russell (Seattle) and Karlie Samuelson (Los Angeles) all re-signing.

Odyssey Sims will return to the Los Angeles Sparks after the team matched the offer sheet the guard had from Phoenix. Natasha Cloud also will be back with the Washington Mystics after the team matched New York's offer for the guard.

Other unrestricted free agents left unsigned include Rebekkah Brunson (Minnesota) and Alana Beard (Los Angeles). The two veterans are expected to return to their teams.

Friday was the first day that free agent deals could be finalized. Financial constraints tend to limit bidding wars — and thus player movement — in the WNBA.

While there hasn't been too much movement with free agents, the Dallas Wings are still entertaining offers for star Liz Cambage, who said last month she'd like to be traded. The 6-foot-8 Australian star was the runner-up for MVP last season and set a league record with 53 points in a game last season.
