Forward Alyssia Brewer, who left Tennessee after three seasons, has signed a letter of intent to register at UCLA and has begun taking classes.

New women's coach Cori Close said Wednesday that Brewer will redshirt this season, then play for the Bruins in 2012-13.

Brewer left the Tennessee team in September, although neither she nor coach Pat Summitt said why. The 6-foot-3 senior averaged 6.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.9 blocks during her career with the Lady Vols.

Brewer tore her Achilles tendon before the start of last season but averaged 2.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 10 minutes and made seven starts in 20 games after returning.
