Baylor guard Shanay Washington is out for the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in practice.
It's the second significant personnel loss for the No. 2 Lady Bears. Point guard Kelli Griffin quit the team days before the season started.
Washington started 32 of 36 games as a freshman last season and averaged 7.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. She had started all five games of her sophomore year and was averaging 5 points and 1.6 rebounds.
The injury on Saturday was Washington's third ACL tear. She injured her right ACL in high school and tore it again during rehabilitation. Her latest surgery isn't scheduled yet.
