Venus, Hingis, Roddick commit to play team tennis' 40th season

Â
Billie Jean King's tennis league will celebrate its 40th anniversary this summer, featuring players Venus Williams, Andy Roddick and Martina Hingis.
The 40th season of World Team Tennis will kick off with the player draft on March 16 in Indian Wells, California.
WTT announced Thursday the regular season will run from July 12-29, with the conference championships on July 30. The final will be Aug. 2.
Williams and the Washington Kastles are going for a fifth straight title.
WTT introduced instant replay, on-court coaching and no-ad scoring to the sport. King says the league "maintains its pioneering spirit and commitment to push the boundaries of our sport in the name of fan entertainment."
An all-star event will be held in August in New York.Â
