Heavy rain is delaying the start of the China Open men's final between Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Spain's David Ferrer.

Drizzly, overcast conditions on Sunday turned into a downpour about 45 minutes after the match was due to start at 4:00 p.m. (0800 GMT).

Defending champion Djokovic reached Sunday's final by beating John Isner of the United States.

On the women's side, new No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark was to meet No. 3 Vera Zvonareva of Russia later in the day.
