Nalbandian out 2 months after surgeries

Published Mar. 10, 2011 12:00 a.m. ET

Argentine tennis player David Nalbandian is expected to be out for two months because of surgery on his left leg and groin.

Nalbandian aggravated a groin strain and tore a muscle in his lower leg while playing a Davis Cup singles match against Adrian Ungur of Romania last week.

Spokesman Bernardo Ballero says the surgery went ''very well'' and Nalbandian is expected to leave the Buneos Aires clinic later Thursday.

Nalbandian, a Wimbledon finalist in 2002, has been bothered by injuries throughout his career. He had hip surgery in 2009 and abdominal injury last year.
