The post-match interview circuit can be grueling. Rafael Nadal was on court nearly an hour after winning Sunday's French Open in a routine 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 romp over David Ferrer.
So you can understand if, between the fatigue and language barrier, things got a little confusing for Rafa during his interview with NBC commentator John McEnroe.
McEnroe, as he should, broached the subject of the man who rushed the court and lit a flare in the middle of the match. The question led to hilarious confusion:
McEnroe: Tell me about this crazy idiot on the court. How did that affect you?
Nadal: Usain?
Nadal, clearly not understanding the question, was referring to Usain Bolt, the Olympic track star who was on hand to present the trophy.
McEnroe quickly segued into a question about what it was like to have Bolt there before getting back on track. Once they sorted it out, Nadal said he was "a little bit scared" about the protester on court but also complimented the Roland Garros security staff.
