Fifth-seeded Andy Murray has eliminated Jurgen Melzer from singles play at the Australian Open for the second year in a row, beating the Austrian player 6-3, 6-1, 6-1 Monday in a fourth-round match.
Last year, Murray beat Melzer in straight sets in the third round en route to the final, which he lost to Roger Federer.
The British player has lost just 22 games in four matches this year at Melbourne Park.
Murray's opponent in the quarterfinals will be Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, who beat fourth-seeded Robin Soderling on Monday.
