Jankovic qualifies for season-ending championships

Jelena Jankovic has qualified for next week's season-ending WTA Championships after top-seeded Vera Zvonareva lost to qualifier Tsvetana Pironkova 6-0, 6-2 in the second round of the Kremlin Cup. Jankovic is five points ahead of Zvonareva in the race for the last spot in the tournament in Doha. She'll fill the final berth regardless of her results at the Kremlin Cup. Serena and Venus Williams, Dinara Safina, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Dementieva, Caroline Wozniacki and Victoria Azarenka have already qualified for the championships and are skipping the event in Moscow. Zvonareva and Agnieszka Rodwanska will go to Doha as alternates.
