Blue Square expert Alan Alger shares his best bets. . .

DEAN SAUNDERS is aiming to bring AFC Wimbledon down to earth when they visit Wrexham today.

The Wombles are slight outsiders at 13-8 after a big win at Mansfield smashing five past the Stags.

But they've lost three away games without scoring and battling Wrexham will relish the test. I'm tempted to back them for a narrow win at 11-8 so take the correct score 1-0 home win at a value 6-1.

Leaders and title favourites Crawley make the long trip to Barrow and Steve Evans' men are 8-13 favourites to win at Holker St against a team that beat them twice last season.

York aim to become the first team to beat Newport at home since March 2009 but it's a tough task for the managerless Minstermen, who we price at 100-30 to end the Exiles' run.

Eastbourne had the chance to do that midweek but needed a late equaliser to draw and it is another trip West today for Borough who face Bath City.

The Romans have lost just once at home so far this and rate 6-5 favourites to win this.

Bottom club Altrincham go to Histon, two places and five points above them, in a real the corner with a new coach but we will be swerving them at 7-4 to win at Southport.

Meanwhile, Darlington are struggling to find the net on their quest for an immediate return to the Football League.

They will surely be popular in accumulators at 8-11 to beat Hayes & Yeading United but the Middlesex club have come back unbeaten from trips to Grimsby and Luton already.

Tamworth enjoyed a good opening but have stuttered in recent weeks with no wins in their last five games. They are 15-8 outsiders to win a tricky outing at Gateshead where only Fleetwood Town have plundered all three points.

The Heed have only lost two of their last eight fixtures and have a decent return of 19 points from their first 14 matches as a full-time outfit.
