TORONTO (AP) Milos Raonic easily advanced to the Rogers Cup quarterfinals in front of his home fans, routing American qualifier Jared Donaldson 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday night.
The fourth-seeded Raonic, the Montenegro-born player who moved to the Toronto area when he was 3, set up a match Friday against Gael Monfils, the 10th-seeded Frenchman who won the Citi Open on Sunday in Washington.
Monfils outlasted Belgium's David Goffin 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-4, winning when Goffin put a backhand into the net at York University's Aviva Centre.
