Eugenie Bouchard became the first Canadian to win a junior Wimbledon title in singles by beating Elina Svitolina of Ukraine 6-2, 6-2 Saturday in the girls' final.
The 18-year-old Bouchard broke the third-seeded Svitolina's serve five times to wrap up the win in exactly 1 hour on Court 1.
The fifth-seeded Bouchard says ''I'm really happy to have pulled through and I guess make Canada proud, and hopefully (I can) continue with more success like this.''
Bouchard dropped only one set throughout the tournament, and has a chance to win the girls' doubles title with American teammate Taylor Townsend on Sunday.
