Berdych eliminates Querrey in 4 sets at US Open

Sixth-seeded Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic beat No. 27 Sam Querrey of the United States 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday night to reach the U.S. Open's fourth round.
Berdych, the 2010 Wimbledon runner-up, equaled his best finish at Flushing Meadows. He can get to the quarterfinals in New York for the first time by beating No. 11 Nicolas Almagro of Spain.
Querrey compiled a 20-10 edge in aces but only managed to convert 1 of 11 break points, while Berdych broke him six times during the 3-hour, 16-minute match.
The loss was Querrey's fifth in a row against an opponent ranked in the ATP's top 10.
