Bartoli reaches semifinals at Strasbourg

Top-seeded Marion Bartoli defeated Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic 6-2, 6-3 Thursday to set up a semifinal match against three-time former champion Anabel Medina Garrigues at the Strasbourg International.

The Frenchwoman broke the eighth-seeded Hradecka three times in the first set, and cruised in the second to reach her fourth semifinal of the season.

The seventh-seeded Medina Garrigues beat Mirjana Lucic of Croatia 6-4, 6-4.

Medina Garrigues is chasing her second title of the season after winning last month's Estoril Open. Bartoli's last title was two years ago at the Monterrey Open in Mexico.

Sixth-seeded Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia also advanced after beating fourth-seeded Nadia Petrova of Russia 6-4, 6-2. Hantuchova faces either second-seeded Andrea Petkovic or fifth-seeded Maria Kirilenko.
