South Africa's president Jacob Zuma marked the one-month countdown to the World Cup by taking a commercial flight alongside ordinary citizens.

South Africa's presidency said Zuma traveled on Tuesday's South African Airways flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town ahead of Wednesday's presentation of the Presidency Budget Vote in parliament.

With World Cup kickoff a month away Zuma said ``The national mood is very positive,'' in a statement released by his office.

He said ``I spoke to the passengers on the plane and they shared their ideas on what they think we should do to improve things in the country.''
