Zambia's football association has sacked Italian coach Dario Bonetti, just two days after the team qualified for next year's African Cup of Nations.
The association announced Monday it had decided to part with Bonetti following an emergency meeting to review Zambia's performance in qualifying.
Zambia finished top of Group C with four wins, a draw and a loss to book a place at the finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next January and February.
But Football Association of Zambia President Kalusha Bwalya says ''there's still more that the team can give. The team has more potential than that.''

Bonetti is a former Roma, Milan and Juventus defender and only took charge of Zambia in July 2010, just before the start of the qualifiers.
