Wolfsburg says it has signed French striker Giovanni Sio from Swiss side FC Sion.
The Bundesliga club said in a statement Wednesday that the 22-year-old Sio, who also holds Ivory Coast citizenship, has signed a deal to June 2015. It did not give a transfer fee.
Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath described his fifth winter signing as a ''highly talented forward.''
Sio, who scored 17 goals in 48 league games for FC Sion, will team up with fellow new recruits Slobodan Medojevic of Serbia, Ferhan Hasani of Macedonia, Portuguese winger Vieirinha and Petr Jiracek of the Czech Republic.
