West Ham will sign Miralem Sulejmani on loan from Ajax, providing the Serbia striker passes a medical and receives a work permit to play in Britain.
Sulejmani would be West Ham's second loan signing after Tal Ben Haim.
Manager Avram Grant, who took over in June after West Ham narrowly avoided relegation last season, has also recruited Thomas Hitzlsperger, Pablo Barrera, Frederic Piquionne and Winston Reid on a permanent basis.
The 21-year-old Sulejmani made Serbia's 30-man preliminary World Cup squad but was one of seven players omitted from the final tournament lineup.
