Arsene Wenger has admitted the Premier League title race is the most open he has experienced and feels like a 'rollercoaster.'
The early part of the season has been extremely competitive with a number of shock results and a couple of victories propelling teams that had been struggling into positions of real promise.
Chelsea currently top the table despite losing four times already, while Arsenal have also suffered a number of surprise defeats.
The Gunners surrendered a two-goal lead to go down 3-2 at home to Tottenham on Saturday and Wenger concedes that such an unpredictable division only adds to the excitement.
"It is a rollercoaster. Every team you think is there (at the top) and solid, suddenly they lose a game that nobody expected," Wenger told Sky Sports News.
"It is emotionally difficult for every single manager but for those who watch the league it makes it more interesting."
Wenger took charge of Arsenal in 1996 and cannot recall a more open Premier League in the last 14 years.
"Yes, at this stage of the season I have never seen the league as compact as it is at the moment," he said.
Unbeaten Manchester United have so far proved to be the most steady performers, although they have drawn half of their 14 matches.
The likes of Tottenham and Manchester City have been tipped to challenge for the title but Wenger believes there are other contenders as well.
"You cannot deny that mathematically (Spurs and City are in contention). Of course it is possible, but you have many other teams," he stated.
"Different teams like Liverpool and Aston Villa are not out of it. They have potential.
"The most important thing is to be consistent and at the moment nobody is managing that apart from Manchester United, but they are consistent without many wins."
Wenger's immediate focus is on Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Braga and he has decided to leave out three key players for fitness reasons.
"I have left behind (Gael) Clichy because he has a small back problem and we will take the opportunity to clear that out," he explained.
"I want to give (Andrey) Arshavin a rest because he has played every single game recently and played for Russia on Wednesday night.
"(Robin) Van Persie is back in the squad but not 100 per cent physically conditioned to fight in a top-level game, so I will take advantage of that to make him work very hard."
