Wembley has begun installing a new playing surface following intense criticism of the field during last week's FA Cup semifinals.
The managers of Chelsea, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Tottenham all criticized the slippery, uneven field. It was marked with divots and played a part in at least one crucial goal.
Wembley Stadium said on Sunday that it is confident it will be able to provide a good field ``for our busy football schedule in May.''
Wembley hosts the FA Cup final and four playoff finals next month, as well as England's May 24 World Cup warmup against Mexico.
