Villarreal striker Nilmar will miss Sunday's game at Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league due to a leg injury.
Club doctors say the Brazilian international pulled a muscle in his right leg, forcing his exclusion from the squad on Saturday.
Nilmar joins midfielder Marcos Senna on Villarreal's injured list.
Villarreal is in fourth place in the Spanish league, three points behind Valencia in their fight for the last automatic qualification spot to next season's Champions League group phase.
