Aston Villa midfielder Jermaine Jenas has been ruled out for six months after having surgery on an Achilles injury.
The 28-year-old Jenas had surgery on his left Achilles tendon Wednesday, four days after he was carried off during a 1-0 Premier League defeat against Manchester United.
The England international is at Villa on a season-long loan from Tottenham. He only made his debut on Nov. 5 following a calf injury.
Villa manager Alex McLeish says ''this is tragic for Jermaine and we are all deeply disappointed for him.''
