Maya Yoshida opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Yanic Wildschut doubled the home side's lead just before the break. Robert Braber pulled one back for RKC but Nwofor Uche and Brian Linssen fired home to give VVV a well deserved win. The result leaves VVV second-bottom of the table but they are now only three points behind De Graafschap, who are above the relegation zone. Heerenveen shared the goals around as they won 4-1 away to FC Utrecht. Sven Kums put the visitors in front after 18 minutes and Heerenveen went further ahead through Bas Dost (60) and Filip Djuricic (74). Rodney Sneijder got a consolation for the home side before Oussama Assaidi completed the scoring for Heerenveen. Willy Overtoom and a Samuel Scheimann own goal earned Heracles a 2-0 win at Excelsior which left the home side rooted to the bottom of the table. Scheimann's own goal came five minutes before half-time and Overtoom made the points safe when he netted Heracles' second with 13 minutes remaining. John Verhoek's first-half goal earned ADO Den Haag victory against NEC Nijmegen. The forward fired home powerfully in the 25th minute for the only goal of the game, though both he and brother Wesley went close to a second goal on numerous occasions.
